16"x12" vertical oil painting on linen on board.  I painted this on site during a paint out (plein air) at a local sunflower field in Medford, NJ.  It was a warm Indian Summer morning and there were rows upon rows of sunflowers that you could walk through and get lost.  The morning sky was cloudy but I decided to go anyway and as soon as I was set up the sun popped out and the fields were aglow!  It is a pick your own farm so when I was done painting I picked a large bunch to brighten my kitchen.
